Brief Overview: In Porkjet you and a friend work together to survive as long as possible versus increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Porkjet is a 2D survival game, with heavy inspiration taken from vampire survivors.
Technologies Used: Godot, GDScript.
Duration: 1 week.
Role: Developer
Objective: To see how much I can create within one week in a completely unfamiliar engine and scripting language.
Gameplay: Players start by selecting an ability, and killing as many enemies as possible. Enemies drop experience orbs based on their strength which players must collect to level up and earn new abilities/level existing ones.
Technical Skills:
I gained a good beginners level knowledge of Godot and GDScript.
Created a multiplayer game from the ground up, with UI designed for use by separate players with no issues.
Soft Skills:
I gained a great deal of confidence in my adaptability and general programming knowledge. Creating a full game, that was both fun and replayable, within a week in an engine and scripting language I have never used before.
